The Fish Was So Big The Fisherman Was Afraid of It and Made a Distress Call

Can you locate a place called Cape Cod on the map? It is a piece of land jutting out of the Atlantic Ocean at the easternmost part of the State of Massachusetts in Northern USA.

Cape Cod is famous as a hot holiday destination especially during summers and for big catch fishing activities. Almost all round the year, fishermen from across the world search the waters looking for the tuna specie of fish and once in a while they celebrate an unusual catch. Only in less than three months ago, fishermen hauled out a tuna that weighed over 417kg from off the Cape Cod Coast.

Once again, it has happened: another big catch from off Cape Cod. Although the size is less than the one reported above (about 295kg), the events surrounding it is funnier and stranger. The fisherman who made the catch, Steve McNally, had to make an offshore call to his colleagues to come to his aid.

What is most surprising about the call McNally made was that this does not even go close to his biggest catch ever on the same spot. Only a few years ago, he had caught a fish weighing about 499kg and did not ask for help. Well, I think age is now telling on the fortunate fisherman.
